Thrilled to see that you’ve created what I know will be a dynamic space for flash. I’ve read the bios and you are kick-A editorial group! And Casey, you know how “Still” got into my bones. It is an ode to resiliency and love. Xx
Casey- I've read your piece before in a Writing in the Dark class and I loved it so much! So glad to see you are one of the editors and I hope to work with you one day.
Casey, your flash piece, Still, is devastatingly magnificent! I am new to CNF flash and look forward leaning in and learning more about how to write it. Excited to be part of your community(found your Substack thru your recent WITD notes post)
Thank you, Lisa. I'm excited to have you here! Check out the editors' links in the meet the editors post...most of us also have Substacks and would love to have you!
Still is absolutely exquisite. It may be the single best flash I've ever read. It expresses a truth so difficult to put into words: the way those we "lose" remain with us. Thank you for writing and sharing this. I'm looking forward to reading your memoir.
This is such a fantastic idea! I hope to be able to submit something before the end of the year! So excited for you all!
Oh, please do!

That essay. It took my breath away, and I'm not sure it's come back. My sincere condolences to you, Casey, on the loss of your beautiful boy.
Even though I’ve read that paragraph before, it still took my breath away Casey.
